The School of Information at San José State University is hosting a networking "Reception and Silent Auction" at the ALA Annual Conference. Senator Barbara Boxer has donated a large "Flag", flown over our Nation's Capitol and Senator Dianne Feinstein has donated a framed, signed formal "Floral" colored pencil print. Library 2.015 Worldwide Virtual Conference

The date for the Library 2.015 Worldwide Virtual Conference has been announced, and it will be held online on October 20, 2015, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. As a founding partner of the fifth annual virtual conference on the future of libraries, the SJSU School of Information is encouraging faculty, students, and alumni to get involved as presenters, volunteers, and attendees. The 2015 conference will emphasize "Library and Information Science (LIS) Tools, Skills, and Competencies," and presenters will be sought to lead sessions in four subject strands.
Conference Subject Strands:
1. Digital Services, Preservation, Curation, and Access
2. Emerging Technologies and Trends
3. The User Experience
4. Management of Libraries and Information Centers in the 21st Century
The Library 2.015 Worldwide Virtual Conference is free for all to attend and presents a unique opportunity for networking in the global community of information practitioners. Presentation proposals will be accepted beginning May 1, 2015, and only 50 submissions total will be accepted.
