Dr. Pat Franks was elected vice content editor for the business archives section of the Society of American Archivists at their Annual Conference held in Austin, Texas, August 11-16, 2009.

Franks will serve as vice editor for the 2009-2010 term and move into the position of editor for the 2010-2011 term. The Business Archives Section is comprised of employees of corporations, businesses, non-profit organizations and associations, who administer and provide access to non-current records from a historical and archival standpoint.

The Business Archives Section produces a Directory of Corporate Archives in the United States and Canada.

Dr. Franks is a San José State University School of Information associate professor and teaches classes in archives and information retrieval.
