San José State University School of Information lecturer Ellyssa Kroski’s new book Web 2.0 for Librarians and Information Professionals was published by Neal-Schuman Publishers last month and is now available on Amazon.com.

Kroski is busy on the LIS conference circuit; she presented “Social Software in Academic Libraries” to librarians at the New York Public Library last week. Her presentation can be viewed on on Slideshare: ellyssa/social-software-in-academic-libraries-for-nypl/.

On April 7, she will be moderating a full–day track at the Computers in Libraries 2008 conference called “Beyond Libraries: Industries Using Hot Tech,” which will feature technology leaders from the newspaper, politics, non-profit, and real estate industries. She will also be giving a talk at the conference about Drupal technology and its use in libraries.

Later that same week she will be heading to Montreal to speak about “Folksonomies and Social Tagging” at the Annual Conference of ABQLA (L’Association des bibliothécaires du Québec Library Association).
