The whole basis for the Emerging Technologies Symposium was to serve as a learning experience. Those in attendance learned first hand how to manipulate new technology, demystifying the unknown and the unfamiliar. Presenters learned how to teach in an online environment, thus strengthening their communication, technological, and leadership skills. My hope is that this will encourage all to actively participate in and contribute professionally to the field.

ETS was also an excellent experience in teamwork. As busy as we all were, I was amazed by the level of service volunteered by our Elluminate student trainers and was impressed by the commitment of presenters. I am also grateful to ALASC for their encouragement and support which took ETS from idea to reality.
