Student Research Journal – Call for Submissions

News

San José State University School of Library and Information Science is pleased to announce the launch of its Student Research Journal (SRJ), and to introduce the journal’s inaugural nine-member student Editorial Team. See Editorial Team 2010-2011.

SRJ — pronounced “surge“, is a peer-reviewed publication that promotes graduate scholarship and intellectual inquiry in the fields of library and information science, archives and records management, and museum studies. The new SLIS graduate journal is open access and hosted at San José State University institutional repository ScholarWorks, which is part of the Digital Commons initiative powered by Berkeley Electronic Press. The journal will receive submissions on a rolling basis, and publish two issues annually, one each in spring and fall.

Call for Submission

The SRJ Editorial Team invites submissions from current SLIS students for the inaugural spring 2011 issue. This is an opportunity to showcase your graduate work while also bringing further recognition to the SJSU School of Library and Information Science. Author submissions can be an original research paper or a critical review or essay covering topics in all fields of information science theory, policy, application, or practice.

Please review the SRJ site for information on how to submit your paper to be considered for publication. Authors create an account from the journal site and upload their work directly into our review system. All submissions received will be acknowledged by the journal Editor-in-Chief.

Update: Deadline extended for submissions to be considered for the spring issue is now Monday, April 25, 2011.

On behalf of the SRJ Editorial Team, I welcome your participation in this exciting strategic initiative of our school, and to collaboratively building an evidence-based publication representing the breadth of knowledge and innovation of our LIS community.
