A structured analysis of the organization’s records management program will uncover procedural inconsistencies, lack of policy, under-utilized technology, and personal preferences adopted over enterprise-wide mandates. Our job as IG professionals is to get upper management to recognize the benefits of establishing an information governance program and building policies that reflect the holistic needs of the organization in order to meet their business goals and objectives.
