Cal State Apply Tutorial
This is an iSchool-specific tutorial to assist in the application process for Cal State Apply. A Login Name and Password will need to be created before starting the application process. Start the application process here, and follow the steps outlined in this tutorial. For technical support with the Cal State Apply application, help is available M - F 6 am to 5 pm PT: (857) 304-2087 and by email: CalStateApply@liaisoncas.com Provide CAS ID # with request (located under your name in the upper-right corner of the application). Responses to emails are typically provided within 2 business days; however, response times can take up to 3 business days during busy times. For other admissions-related questions, email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
1. Visit www2.calstate.edu/apply click "Create Account"
2. Enter contact information. Create a Username, Password, and Security Question.
3. Choose: Graduate, including Credential and Certificate Programs.
Select type of Degree:
MLIS or MARA applicants: Choose, Master’s degree or higher (Teacher Librarian Students are recommended to choose this status as well. Please see: http://ischool.sjsu.edu/programs/teacher-librarian/how-to-apply)
Post-Master’s Certificate, Digital Assets Certificate applicants: Choose, Post-baccalaureate Certificate
4. If you have previously attended a CSU, choose the campus. If not, choose: No. Answer the U.S. Military Status and Citizenship Status Questions.
Note: If an applicant needs to change information regarding visa, residency, military status, citizenship, or degree objective (Masters, Credential, or Certificate), they can go into their Extended Profile and change information (located at the top right, hover over your CAS ID and name and a drop down menu will pop up, then choose: extended profile). Then the programs available based on their profile will display. For example, an in-progress applicant initially chose Master's (MARA), but instead wants to do the certificate in strategic management, the applicant may update their extended profile and indicate that they intend to apply for a Certificate program.
