Collaborate Career Development Workshop
First Wednesday of the Month Series

Each month during the academic year, Jill Klees, iSchool Career Center Liaison, conducts informal workshops for current students and alumni via Blackboard Collaborate. These workshops allow for an interactive question and answer discussion with a focus on different topics such as resume writing, telephone interviewing, the job search, etc. These workshops are recorded and made available as Collaborate Recordings.

Mar. 1 - It is Time to Update Your Resume!

Now is the time to integrate your­­­ LIS experience into an awesome, well-developed, and targeted resume that represents you as the information professional you are. Learn about contemporary formatting, how to develop descriptive accomplishment statements, and how to tailor and target your experience to the LIS field. This workshop is appropriate for current students and recent MLIS graduates.

Using LinkedIn is a very effective way for you to market yourself, increase your networking connections, AND be accessible to employers. Are you ready? If not, join me for an interactive workshop on how to update your online presence.

May 3 - Graduated - Now What?

Congratulations on completing your MLIS! Now let’s put it to work. Join me for this interactive workshop outlining steps to develop your job search strategy and make a realistic and purposeful plan of action. This is an open Q&A format for anyone looking for a job.
