Fresh out of graduate school with a master’s degree in Religion, Elena Nipper had no idea what she wanted to do. Teaching – the most obvious career path – didn’t suit her personality. But then she learned about theological librarianship and found her niche.
Claudia Peters’ life has gone through dramatic changes in the past two years, including a move from the U.S. to Denmark and a transition from working full time to starting a family. Through it all, the one constant has been her online classes through SLIS. Peters is specializing in academic librarianship and intends to become a reference and instructional librarian.
Jonathan Paulo, recipient of the 2009 SLIS H.W. Wilson Scholarship, dreamed of being a professional musician before setting his sights on a career in reference services at an academic library.
