Alum Ron Cascella’s SLIS coursework in web development and digital asset management recently helped him gain a position on the Content Delivery Team at Adobe Systems in Seattle, Washington.
NASIG is the largest organization for serials librarians and related professionals in North America, and focuses on issues surrounding the creation, production, delivery, management, and access of serial information.
Student Hoan-Vu Do was awarded the 2011 SLIS H.W. Wilson Scholarship, which will support his MLIS studies and career goals in science librarianship.
“Design thinking is an approach to solving problems from a design or artistic viewpoint,” Ouderkirk explained. “Using design thinking also helps emerging technology develop, as someone sees a problem and creates a program or software that helps meet that need.”
Student Silke Higgins is pursuing a career in digital services, thanks, in part, to the inspiration she received from an MLIS course she completed during Fall 2010, regarding iPad applications and other new media.
