The event, geared toward prospective students, current students, and alumni, presents a unique networking opportunity. Guests will also meet Dr. Sandra Hirsh, professor and director of the iSchool. “I always enjoy hosting in-person information sessions and learning more about their career objectives,” said Hirsh.

Hirsh is passionate about the myriad possibilities opening in the information profession and is “thrilled to inspire others to think creatively about how they can tailor their career path to their unique skills and interests.” She has been the director of the iSchool since 2010, and brought a wealth of research and experience in libraries, advocacy, and technology with her to the position. She is a recognized leader in the field of information, and is currently president of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). She was also recently elected International Relations Round Table councilor-at-large for the American Library Association (ALA).

Hirsh’s presentation will cover the many areas available for study at the iSchool. Students can pursue a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree, a Master of Archives and Records Administration (MARA) degree, a Teacher Librarian credential, an Advanced Certificate in Strategic Management of Digital Assets and Services, a Post-Master’s Certificate in Library and Information Science, and a doctorate through the international San José Gateway PhD program. The iSchool also offers master’s-level courses for college credit, and sponsors the Library 2.0 virtual conference series.

Individuals planning to attend the in-person information session with Hirsh in Campbell, California are kindly asked to RSVP, although walk-ins are welcome. Complimentary continental breakfast will be served.

For those unable to attend the in-person session in Campbell, California, the iSchool is also hosting virtual information sessions throughout the year. Information about dates and times, along with links to recordings of past sessions, is available on the iSchool website.
