Course Information Description
Computational Reasoning (3 credits)

Course runs Jan. 18 – May 11, 2022. Course is asynchronous.

Host University: Rutgers
Instructor: Fernando, Suchinthi
This course introduces students to the reasoning and logic behind computing, and the mathematical thinking behind computing concepts. Theoretical concepts will be put to practice in learning to create practical computing applications.
Theological Librarianship (2 credits)

Course runs Jan. 18 – May 4, 2022. Course meets online on Wednesdays 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM Pacific Time / 3:00 PM – 4:45 PM Central Time

Provides an overview of the contexts, materials, services, and issues characterizing theological librarianship. Students interact with a number of librarians currently working in the field.
Personnel Management (4 credits)

Course runs Jan. 18 – May 4, 2022. Course meets online on Thursdays 4:00 PM – 5:55 PM Pacific Time / 6:00 PM – 7:55 PM Central Time

This course is designed to familiarize students with principles of effective personnel management in a library setting. Students will examine theory and best practice for managing staff. Topics will include: managerial authority and power; staff coaching, feedback, and communication; performance evaluations and progressive discipline; recruitment, interviewing, and selection; job creation and development; and compensation and motivation. This course will also review Human Resources law related to Equal Employment Opportunity, Family and Medical Leave Act, Exempt status, and others.
