Laura Challman Anderson

Laura Anderson is a member of the Services Research staff at IBM’s Almaden Research Center, focusing on large-scale data analytics and chemical informatics. She has held a variety of technical management and senior management positions during her IBM career, serving as the Almaden site manager for Computing Services, the Technical Staff Manager assisting the Lab Director, and in the Services Research and Computer Science Departments. She has also served as a manager in IBM’s Silicon Valley Lab where she was the Manager of Customer Solutions for IBM’s Digital Library solution, and at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. Prior to joining IBM, she worked as a Systems Analyst at the Faxon Library Subscription Agency in Westwood, MA.  In 2000, Laura was honored with the Silicon Valley YWCA Tribute to Women and Industry award. Her research interests include information behavior and use, collaboration, technical project managment, large-scale data analytics, services management, and software engineering.  She is a member of Beta Phi Mu, the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE),  and the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIST).  Laura can be contacted via email at and.laura@gmail.com.
