A bachelor's degree from any regionally accredited institution in any discipline with an overall GPA of at least 3.0, or a master's degree regardless of GPA, is required to apply for the MARA program.
The school requires that all students have computer access from home. See Home Computing Requirements.
The school also requires that all students have a general understanding of computers and technology. See Technology Literacy Requirement.
The school requires that all students have access to appropriate software.
In addition to the requirements mentioned above, international applicants must meet the following:
- TOEFL score of 600 (paper version) or 250 (computer version) or 100 (Internet-based) or
- IELTS score of 8.
MARA students will be classified as Special Session. Fees for MARA courses through Special Session are $474 per unit, or $19,908 for the degree.
Students cannot be in both the MLIS and MARA degree programs at the same time. Switching from the MLIS to the MARA degree programs involves contacting the iSchool office to request a transfer from MLIS to MARA. MLIS students will be allowed to transfer up to three 3-credit courses into the MARA program.
