Alumna Robin Kear is a Library Journal “2008 Mover and Shaker”
Robin Kear (2002) is highlighted as an advocate for librarians in the article “Global Thinker: Robin Kear, University of Pittsburgh,” in the March 15, 2008 issue of Library Journal. Kear is a reference/instruction librarian at the University of Pittsburgh and focuses her professional activities on international librarianship. She was also honored as an American Library Association 2008 Emerging Leader.
I am honored to be designated as a 2008 Mover and Shaker among such great company. I don’t feel that I move or shake nearly enough, but it is great to be considered one who does. My advice to library school students: find out what you love about being a librarian and find others that love that same thing. Wonderful things can happen.
