What I am doing now.

My primary responsibility is managing the Archives and Special Collections. One of the most rewarding aspects of what I do is teaching information literacy courses, a freshman studies course, and an oral history course. I serve as the liaison to the History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies Departments and, if that isn’t enough, I have reference desk responsibilities.

What are the most valuable skills I use in my job?

The courses that have really helped me in performing my job duties are LIB 240 (for web design), LIB 250 (Instructional Design), and LIB 244 (the Dialog module has been especially helpful).

There has been nothing that has really surprised me as being useful at my job, however, I am really glad I took LIB 256 (Archives and Manuscripts) and the course on encoded archival description.
