What I am doing now.

I educate future library and information professionals and conduct research regarding the future of libraries in America.

What are the most valuable skills I use in my job?

I draw on a variety of skills, knowledge and experience in my current work, including my time as a professional librarian at a fashion school, my work as an image cataloger for an online stock photography company, and the education and research experiences I received during my PhD studies.

I often draw on my experience as a distance learning student at SJSU whenever I teach my own online courses. I recall both what kinds of tools and course experiences I found helpful to my education, as well as issues and challenges that made online education frustrating, and try to continually improve learning environments for the online MLIS students I teach.
