What I am doing now.

I work as an outreach specialist at the SJSU iSchool. From 2010 - 2014, I worked in grants administration for the San Jose State Research Foundation, assisting Principal Investigators at the School of Information with program coordination, reporting, event planning, communications and student support services for federally-funded grants such as the Circle of Learning Program. Before working at the university, I worked as a credentialed teacher-librarian in socio-economically and culturally diverse K-8 schools in San Jose.

What are the most valuable skills in my job?

Staying current with information technology, such as online learning management systems, is a critical skill in any position servicing end users – whether that is a library, university or any other information setting.
