What I am doing now.
I work for a large semiconductor equipment manufacturer in Silicon Valley as a Corporate Librarian. I manage our intranet portal, conduct user training, market the library, conduct literature and patent searches, and provide other information resources to engineers and other employees. Our library is almost completely digital.
What are the most valuable skills I use in my job?
The skills I use most are the search skills I learned in school. I don’t have a science or engineering background but with skills I learned in school I am able to successfully provide information and conduct searches on subjects that I’m not very familiar with. I also use library marketing skills I learned and I use them much more than I thought I might have to when I first started my job search.
