Current Students Advising Appointments
Student Services Advising appointments are for CURRENT School of Information (MLIS, MARA, MS Informatics, Post-Master’s Certificate, Advanced Certificate, and Teacher Librarian) graduate students.
In the Student Services Advising Appointments, students can receive personalized advising on administrative topics, such as: understanding SJSU policies, academic standing, coaching on how to use the eAdvising tools to choose electives, referral to campus resources, planning for internships or e-Portfolio, and receiving a grad check prior to submitting the degree Candidacy plan.
MLIS Faculty Pathway Advisors are also available by email to help with focused questions about narrowing down elective choices. MLIS students are free to contact more than one pathway faculty advisor for advice, as students may be taking classes from multiple career pathways.
All Student Services Advising appointments are individual. No group appointments are scheduled.
For current and prospective BSISDA students, please see the BSISDA Advising page for further assistance: https://ischool.sjsu.edu/bsisda-advising
If you are a current student or have already submitted your application, please make the Student Services appointment with an email address and name that is listed on MySJSU or your Cal State Apply application.
Appointments are available on Monday and Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. Pacific Time and on Thursday from 12 – 2 p.m. Pacific Time. Contact Sheila if you need another time. See available appointment times on our scheduling calendar:

We appreciate your filling the form out as soon as you have booked the appointment, so we can be prepared ahead of the appointment time.
Note that each appointment slot is 20 minutes, so please be on time. If you are unable to attend, make sure to cancel your appointment ahead of time. To cancel an appointment, go to your own Google calendar and delete the event. This allows us to serve other students.
Please do not join the Zoom room if you do not have an appointment. Only students with an appointment will be allowed in from the waiting room.
