Haley’s Wheel of the Year
Haley Mizushima, 2022 Showcase
Haley’s Wheel of the Year: This project is a comprehensive 12-month plan for children’s programming in public libraries. This project has been designed for children from birth to age 12 and includes weekly storytimes, monthly clubs and events, and a summer reading program. Formatted as a website, it features monthly themes as well as diverse and inclusive programming.
Haley Mizushima: “I earned a BA in Political Theory and English Literature from UC San Diego. After I graduated, I worked as a Legislative Aide in local politics, on several political campaigns, and as a Courtroom Clerk. I love reading, traveling, and spending time with my cat and family. When I was in college, I worked part time at a local independent bookshop. I loved helping customers find their next read. I decided to go back to school to pursue a MLIS degree because, while I thought my passion was politics, I’ve learned I find greater joy surrounded by books. My interest is in academic librarianship.”
