Is There A Manual for That? Exploring The Handbook of Archival Practice

This panel presentation offers a glimpse of the image of the 21st Century Archival Practitioner based on 111 entries contributed by 105 authors to the 2020 publication of The Handbook of Archival Practice, edited by Dr. Pat Franks. Pat will discuss how Handbook addresses 10 key areas of archival practice to serve as a valuable resource for archival students and practitioners. Two of the 105 authors will share their insights based on their entries to The Handbook. Contributor Jelain Chubb will discuss the legal process of replevin the Texas State Library and Archives Commission uses to reclaim alienated state records. And contributor Rebekah Davis will address all aspects of small archives management and how they are carried out in practice at the Limestone County (AL) Archives.
