Faculty Conference Presentation

Outreach to immigrant communities is a long-standing aspect of United States library service. This area of library and information science (LIS) practice is vital given that immigration continues to dominate policy and public discourse. This session offers a framework for teaching immigrant outreach within LIS courses and is a summary of the recent ALISE Conn@ct mini-grant work received by the REFORMA Education committee in collaboration with REFORMA Mid-Atlantic Chapter, Prince George’s County Memorial Library System and Montgomery County Public Libraries.
