MLIS Student Raquel Dubin Receives National ASIS&T Scholarship

iStudent Blog

Congratulations to SJSU School of Information MLIS student Raquel Dubin, who has been selected to receive a $5,000 tuition scholarship from the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T).

Dubin was one of just five scholarship recipients selected from 187 applicants, making the honor a particularly competitive national recognition.

ASIS&T evaluated applicants based on their commitment to the information profession, engagement with ASIS&T or the former Special Libraries Association, and their vision for how the scholarship would support their careers in library and information science.

Dubin is pursuing interests at the intersection of technology, special librarianship, and equitable access to information.

The scholarship will help support her progress toward completing the MLIS degree while providing another connection to the broader professional information science community.

Dubin’s recognition is also part of an exceptional year for SJSU students within ASIS&T. The SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter was named Student Chapter of the Year in 2026, highlighting the growing involvement and leadership of iSchool students within the international information science community.

Congratulations, Raquel!
