If you happen to be a graduate student in the Northwest, or if you know someone who is pursuing a career in archives, then check out the Northwest Archivists’ Student-at-Large Scholarship program! This opportunity provides $500 and a one-year NWA membership to support graduate students in the region as they explore or advance their aspirations in archival work. No NWA membership is required to apply!

Intent:
This $500 annual scholarship supports graduate students pursuing a career in archives administration through activities such as research projects, unpaid internships, and participation in conferences, seminars, or other educational opportunities.

Guidelines:
Eligible applicants must be graduate students in an accredited archives program within the NWA region (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Montana) and have completed at least 160 quarter-system or 110 semester-system credit hours. Funds must be used for direct costs and cannot cover supplies or equipment. Recipients are encouraged, but not required, to attend the Annual Meeting for a formal award presentation.

Selection:
The Northwest Archivists Scholarships Committee reviews applications and selects one recipient annually. The application deadline is April 1st at 12:00 AM Pacific, with notifications sent by early April. The scholarship may be used at any time during the following calendar year.
