Alumna Sandra Briggs Appointed Library Services Director for Woodland Public Library in Woodland, CA
Sandra Briggs (MLIS 2007) was appointed library services director of the Woodland Public Library on March 19, 2008. See article published in the Daily Democrat: “Library leader wants positive image for WPL”(sign in required). From the board of directors press release:
Ms. Briggs has served as program manager for Yolo County Library for the past seven years. As a member of the senior management team, her experience has included library strategic and budgetary planning, policy development, public relations, assessment of community satisfaction and priorities, and the analysis of library performance and trends.
In addition, her primary responsibilities included the planning, coordination, and facilitation of all facets of design for new library construction and renovation. Two long-term projects for new library facilities in the communities of Winters and West Sacramento will break ground this summer.
Briggs also has an MS degree in counseling from California State University at Sacramento. She is an active member of American Library Association and California Library Association, and she was recently selected for participation in a statewide library leadership program, the Eureka Institute, sponsored by InfoPeople and the California State Library.
