Eight Outstanding SJSU SLIS Students Awarded Scholarships
Each spring, the San José State University School of Library and Information Science awards several scholarships to current graduate students enrolled in the fully online Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree program. Congratulations to the eight MLIS students who received scholarships in recognition of their academic excellence!
“The scholarship committee reviewed a record number of qualified nominations. The faculty could not be more pleased in recognizing the best of our best,” said Dr. Anthony Bernier, chairman of the Student Scholarships and Student and Alumni Networking Committee.
The 2013 SJSU SLIS graduate student scholarship recipients are:
- Jonna Paden – Alumni & Friends Scholarship
- Charlotte King – Blanche Woolls Spectrum Scholarship
- Ian Matzen – Connie Constantino Scholarship
- Charmetria Marshall – SLIS Faculty Scholarship
- Lauren Reid – H.W. Wilson Scholarship
- Angela Medina – Kaiser Permanente Medical Librarianship Scholarship
- Selena Chau – NewsBank Scholarship
- Robert LeMoine – Terry Crowley Scholarship
The information school’s scholarship program features eight scholarships endowed by faculty, students, alumni, and friends of SJSU SLIS. Each endowed scholarship provides $1,000 in financial assistance to help MLIS graduate students attain their educational goals.
