The fellowship, sponsored by Reference Service Press and administered by the California Library Association, is a competitive financial award program for students who have been accepted by an accredited MLS program and are interested in pursuing a career in reference services.

Trujillo currently works for the reference department at the Tomas Rivera Library at the University of California, Riverside. “My duties include helping students acquire the information literacy skills they need in order to be successful in college,” she explains. “I have worked in both public and academic libraries, which has only increased my love of libraries and passion for information.” Trujillo is enthusiastic for the future: “I can’t wait to receive my MLIS so I can participate more fully in providing reference services!”
