As the events associate, Rhonda Dahlgren works with the San José State University School of Information’s director to identify conferences and events for the school to exhibit and sponsor. She also works closely with the school’s associate director and marketing team in representing the iSchool at events and provides supervision for event staff and student assistants.

Dahlgren plans and executes all stages of participation and logistics for various conferences, meetings, sponsorships, exhibitions and receptions throughout the U.S. and abroad. She plans events for the Gateway PhD Program, offered in partnership with the Queensland University off Technology in Australia, and the school’s involvement in the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) World Congress held in various countries each year. She also coordinates the annual iSchool Convocation, on-campus faculty retreats, and meetings of the school’s International Advisory Council, which includes leaders from corporations and public institutions in North America.

Biographical Sketch

Dahlgren started working for the School of Information in May 2007 as the recruitment and events coordinator. Prior to joining the iSchool, she worked for CSU Stanislaus, the SJSU Department of Communication Studies, and the SJSU Foundation, Title IV-E Program. During her career in business administration, document control and quality control, she has acquired over 25 years of experience in a variety of corporate, educational, and non-profit settings.
