What I am doing now.
Provide vision, oversight, and management for all library services, including leading a team of 4 faculty librarians, 4 library staff, and 15 student assistants in ensuring a thriving and responsive learning environment.
What are the most valuable skills I use in my job?
Communication Skills / Problem Solving Skills / Personal Management & Organization Skills / Interpersonal Skills
I learned how to think through problems and seek solutions. The iSchool model, especially the final capstone, forced me to think through the knowledge I gained and apply it to various situations. I am most surprised I use techniques gained from the communications class. Communication & understanding different communication styles has been helpful, especially in a management role.
