MLIS 2022
Law Librarian, Research, Litigation and the Practice of Law, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law
USC Gould School of Law
Sunset Beach, CA
What I am doing now.
I obtained my J.D. from Loyola and practiced law in private practice for more than 30 years, where I concentrated on business litigation. I obtained my MLIS degree from the SJSU School of Information, and after graduation, I joined USC Gould School of Law as Law Librarian, Research, Litigation and the Practice of Law, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law. I teach legal research to first-year law students, and I also conduct legal research workshops for non-law students.
What are the most valuable skills I use in my job?
Serving as a peer mentor was a valuable experience and allowed me to experience graduate school from the instructor perspective, to interact with students, and to become more familiar with learning management systems. I am glad that I was able to develop LibGuides, and to create instructional videos and PowerPoint presentations. I use all of these as an academic law librarian!
