Learn about browser-based VR at the iSchool, and why it is an important tool for librarians to know about. Are you interested in technology? Heard about VR but don’t know where to start? Well the iSchool offers the opportunity to learn about VR in a variety of different ways. One of those ways is through the iSchool Hubs VR Team. You can get a VR room of your own, and make anything you would like. It can be a work project, a school assignment, a virtual CV, or just a fun meeting place! If any of this sounds interesting to you, come meet up with the VR team’s student leader to learn more, and get a fun interactive demo in Mozilla Hubs! Laptop or Desktop recommended, but NO SPECIAL EQUIPTMENT REQUIRED!

All about the MLIS Career Pathways (Saturday August 12th, 2-3pm PST)

Let’s talk about the MLIS Career Pathways! We’ll give a description of the different pathways and talk about how you can find courses that match the pathways, and how you can mix and match pathways. Haven’t decided on a pathway? Don’t worry! You don’t need to have a pathway to graduate and many students finish their MLIS without one, but choosing a pathway can be helpful if you want to prepare for a specific career goal, and we’ll talk about how you can find a pathway (or even two or three pathways) that match your interests.
