Small Acts of Wellness Lead to a Lifetime of Wellness

August is National Wellness Month and we want to encourage everyone to join the “I Choose Wellness” Campaign.

It is very easy: post a photo of yourself, a place, or an object to show how you define wellness for yourself, include a brief description. Use the hashtag #SJSUWellness – this hashtag will link all the posts to provide inspiration for others to increase wellness acts and lead to a lifetime of wellness.

Here are examples of my wellness practices:

Strawberries, blueberries and yogurt

A group of friends from different backgrounds looking happy to be together

Here is a list of wellness examples to give you an idea of what kinds of things you can share for the “I Choose Wellness” Campaign. The possibilities are endless. If something brings you joy, it is wellness!

  • Activities: playing with your pet, reading, sleeping, walking
  • Mixed: pausing, sitting still, watching a movie, watching the sunset
  • Eating/Drinking: eating chocolate, eating fruits, juicing, drinking water
  • Visiting places: communities, lakes, mountains, parks

Top Tips to add wellness to your life and some resources to support your efforts:

  1. Drink water
  2. Add some type of movement
  3. Connect with other people
  4. Review your foods
