Survey of 2021 Informatics Graduates

Post

The purpose of the INFM alumni survey is to track employment trends, ensure that our curriculum remains relevant, and help us anticipate shifts in the job market.

This survey was sent in June 2022 to graduates who completed the INFM program during calendar year 2021. We received a total of 8 responses to our survey. The responses may be rounded.

We are pleased to share the following data regarding our alumni:

  • 100% of alumni responding to the survey are currently employed, with 75% working in an informatics role and/or related capacity and 25% working outside the informatics profession.
  • Of the 75% (six respondents) who are employed in the informatics profession, they are working in health, business, government, and higher education sectors in California and Pennsylvania. Their job titles include administrative analyst, data analyst, senior program manager, associate consultant, and professional services manager.
  • After graduation, 80% remained with an employer or position they held while attending the INFM program, and they indicated that receiving the master’s degree advanced their careers. For example, they were promoted or received a salary increase. The reported gross salary ranged from $57,100 to $154,000.
  • Survey respondents listed the following experiences as the most helpful in obtaining their jobs: technological skills, previous employment experience, and the e-portfolio used as a career portfolio.
  • The survey respondents believe that the skills and knowledge they learned in the INFM program prepared them for their jobs.
