2023-2024 FCI-Terminal Island Library Services First-Year Plan: This project is a hypothetical narrative plan covering the first year of library services at Federal Correctional Institution Terminal Island in San Pedro, California. The plan relays the needs of the facility’s incarcerated population to the operational needs of FCI Terminal Island’s library and library services. The plan includes goals for the current fiscal year, one of which is to design and offer a therapeutic (cognitive-based) in-house program, and an end-of-year, state-of-the-library report on accomplishments, concerns, and plans for the future.

Rebecca Komathy is an MLIS graduate student at San José State and hails from Long Beach, California. She received her BA in English and Creative Writing, and her MFA in Creative Writing, Fiction from California State University, Long Beach. She currently works for law enforcement as a Police Records Technician. When she’s not in front of her computer, she is either trying out new restaurants or wondering what trouble her corgi is up to.
