Cultural Heritage Competitive Intelligence: A brief discussion of the current challenges of cultural entities and how competitive intelligence through social media helps address the same. This project includes a review of the use of online social media tools by cultural organizations in the digital age and aims to provide insights on the effective use of these tools to build up competitive advantages and fulfill missions of cultural organizations.
Inez Suen currently works as a tax manager at a multinational corporation based in Hong Kong and is graduating in May 2021 with an MLIS degree and the Advanced Certificate in Strategic Management: Digital Asset Management. She is interested in the archival pathway, particularly in cultural heritage preservation, digital curation, and digital assets management. She also gained practical experiences in CMS, preservation, web programming, cataloging, metadata, policy development, project planning, etc. from the iSchool, and participated in virtual volunteering projects at institutions including DigiVol in Australia, and Smithsonian Transcription Center, and the National Archives in the United States. With her passion in the cultural heritage field and experience in diverse industries, she is looking forward to exploring a new career path in a museum/cultural organization setting in developing initiatives to support the dissemination of heritage knowledge to society.
