Cultural Institution Profile: Chief Dull Knife College
Caroline Chow, 2024 Showcase
Cultural Institution Profile: Chief Dull Knife College: This project examines the role of the tribal college in the preservation of the culture and language of the Northern Cheyenne tribe in Lame Deer, MT. The paper highlights the work of the college as well as the college’s library and cultural center, and uplifts its role for both the college students and the reservation’s community. Written from the perspective of a Reading Nation Waterfall partner for the tribe and a visitor to the Northern Cheyenne reservation, the paper shares an appreciation for the efforts of the tribal college in the many ways in which the Northern Cheyenne culture is celebrated and valued both at the college and across the reservation.
