Culturally Competent Outreach
Lucinda Amerman, 2023 Showcase
Culturally Competent Academic Library Outreach: This is a lightning talk about cultural competence as it relates to academic librarianship. The presentation focuses on improving library outreach at the university level using cultural competence grounded in an anti-racist framework. We must rethink our definition of outreach and confront the culture of white supremacy that exists in universities and libraries.
Lucinda Amerman is working towards her MLIS while working full-time at an academic library in library administration.
