Chin Yeung Li, Sally N. Marquez, Mayra Mesa, 2022 Showcase
: This is a user-centered information design project. The purpose of this project is redesigning the knowledge structures of a website. We have contemplated various aspects of the site (its target users, its strengths and weaknesses, and ways to improve it). This project includes identifying objectives and stakeholders, and outlining the scope of work—from developing a user research plan, to designing the site model and wireframes, and writing a project report with recommendations for the stakeholders. Our team identified solutions to enhance user experience of the website DreamHorse.com (https://www.dreamhorse.com/).
Chin Yeung Li: “I graduated from SJSU back in 2008 majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Mathematics. I am currently working as a software analyst. I am currently living in Hong Kong, SAR, China (moved back to Hong Kong since 2016).”
Sally N. Marquez is currently pursuing her M.S. in Informatics at San Jose State University. A lifelong Angeleno, she received her B.A. in Comparative Literature with a minor in Digital Humanities from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Her educational interests include human centered design and emerging technologies.
Mayra Mesa: “I completed my Bachelor of Science in Information Systems in 2001. It is my dream to return to school and finish my master’s. San Jose State University has offered me that opportunity. I am glad to be learning about the most up-to-date technology. I started the program in 2021 hoping to finish in 2023. I have been married for 18 years and I have 2 children, Emily (15) and Jeremy (13). I run a small business from home while home-schooling my kids and taking classes online. It has been a great opportunity to learn these skills and grow as a person.”
