LibGuide: History of Opera in the United States

LibGuide: History of Opera in the United States: The culminating project for INFO 244-01 required the development of a LibGuide, a web-based guide that outlines best practices for locating and evaluating information sources and provides curated resources to help learners initiate scholarly research.

I created an accessible, learner-centered LibGuide that serves as a companion to the SJSU course, History of Opera in the United States. Encompassing a broad range of research orientations and subjects, U.S. opera history is a rich, interdisciplinary area of study that encourages learners to apply myriad search techniques and explore a variety of media, from books and journal articles to archival footage and photographs. The LibGuide design strategically supports learners in these efforts, helping them to build the critical thinking, information literacy, and online searching skills that are essential to high-quality scholarship.
