Library Marketing Plan

Library Marketing Plan: For my final project for INFO 283, I created a marketing plan for a fictional library called Anytown Public Library. Anytown Public Library is launching a new digital resource for their patrons—a video streaming service called LibraryFlix. In order to get the staff educated about the new service and its marketing plan, I’ve recorded a presentation that gives an overview of the video streaming service, what the library’s goals are for introducing this new digital resource, and the marketing plan. In addition to the presentation, the marketing plan itself goes into greater detail about the history of the library and its current situation—including an executive summary and environmental scan. It also includes an action plan that outlines in detail all seven steps of the marketing plan, and an evaluation section that includes specific measurement tools and timeline. The marketing plan also includes mock-ups of posters and social media assets to be used as part of the campaign.

Wendy Chamberlain earned her bachelor’s degree in Film Studies from The Ohio State University. After graduating, she designed and developed databases, and then owned a video store in Brooklyn, NY for 15 years. She now works for a video streaming company that works with libraries and universities. She’s passionate about film, literacy, intellectual freedom, organizing information, and improving the user experience.
