Making Space: Analyzing the Parallels Between the Legacy of the LAPL’s Teen’Scape and Young Adult Literature in the Early 2000s

Making Space: Analyzing the Parallels Between the Legacy of the LAPL’s Teen’Scape and Young Adult Literature in the Early 2000s: This paper analyzes the development and the echoing effects of the Los Angeles’ Public Library’s Teen’scape on teen spaces and services across the US. Ultimately, public library spaces for teens make the same argument that teens themselves and young adult literature have been making for decades: we will make a space for ourselves, not in how you want us to be but in what we need and want from it.
