It includes the definition of a service animal according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); how the American Library Association suggests identifying a service animal; addresses some known concerns; and highlights other cases of animals in the library. Marissa Kawasaki received her undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in humanities from Soka University of America. After spending four years in Japan teaching English, she has spent the last few years trying different careers. She just finished her first semester in the MLIS program at San Jose State University.
