Vanessa Eastwood

Vanessa Eastwood, an accomplished librarian, brings a rich tapestry of experiences and passion to the world of literature and community engagement. From her humble beginnings as a part-time Assistant Reference Librarian she is on the fast track toward becoming a career librarian. Vanessa’s journey has been one marked by dedication and a commitment to excellence. Born to Portuguese immigrants from the Azores, Vanessa is a first-generation college student, embodying the spirit of resilience and determination. In addition to her professional pursuits, Vanessa is a happily married individual, with her love story finding a unique chapter as she exchanged vows at the iconic Boston Public Library. Their life is beautifully entwined with the companionship of Atari, a spunky dobby lookalike chihuahua. Together, their leisure moments are adorned with the joys of reading romance novels and crocheting. Vanessa’s journey is a testament to her multifaceted identity, seamlessly blending her professional achievements, cultural heritage, and personal milestones. With two classes remaining in her Master’s in Library and Information Science journey, Vanessa looks forward to finishing her chapter at SJSU and starting the next one in her professional career.
