Dr. Joni Richards Bodart has been an advocate for and a defender of teen literature since she began her professional career in 1971, as the YA librarian at the Sonoma County Library. She is the author of “Radical Reads: 101 YA Novels on the Edge.” Dr. Bodart has given many lectures and workshop presentations on the value of controversial literature and how it can be used in schools and libraries.
