John Shuler is a lecturer at the San José State University School of Information. He is also an associate professor, government information librarian, and bibliographer for both the  College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs and the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has written and presented extensively about policy aspects of government information services in both governments and libraries. He is currently the chair of the Legislative Committee of the American Library Association’s Government Documents Roundtable (GODORT) and associate editor for the journal Government Information Quarterly.
