Banned & Controversial Immersive Book Talk (in VR & Zoom)
The freedom to access books and information may be under attack,
but LIS professionals will always be at the heart of the
resistance!
Mark your calendars and join the iSchool Hubs Team hosting an
immersive book talk commemorating banned books week 2023. Join us
on Zoom, and in-world at our space station if you want. (No VR
headset or account is needed.)
We’ll screenshare the virtual environments where you’ll hear from
several MLIS students as they give us a virtual tour. We’ll have
an interactive conversation about different books and we’d love
to hear about what’s happening in your area too. Perhaps you’ll
be inspired to create a virtual gallery for your library and
connect it to ours. Virtual environments are exciting spaces that
increase access to information, no matter where our patrons,
students, or colleagues are physically located.
