Applying LIS in Alternative Career Paths
ASIS&T Student Chapter
The SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter welcomes you to a discussion
on applying LIS in alternative career paths. We will be joined by
author and digital librarian, Michelle Zaffino.
Michelle is the founder & CEO of MyLibrarian / In the Stacks, a
site, database, and developing app [that] “combines top librarian
book picks with users’ reading preferences to provide
recommendations and allows users to locate books nearby and
online.” While in grad school, Michelle chose to focus on
Information Architecture (IA) and applying her MLIS in a
non-traditional library path. Hear her speak on choosing an
alternative career path and utilizing IA and other LIS skills in
a unique, tech-driven field.
