Join the First Generation Student Group on October 19, 2023 at 5:00pm PST for our Fall General Meeting! We have the honor of interviewing Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson, the current president of San José State University and former president of Texas A&M University-San Antonio.

Dr. Teniente-Matson is a first generation student whose Mexican immigrant family moved to California from San Antonio, Texas when she was 8. She earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, an MBA from the University of Alaska Anchorage, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Fresno State.
