SAASC Presents Game On: Navigating the World of Video Game Archiving with Alison Quirion

SAASC is excited to host Alison Quirion, video game archivist, on Thursday November 9 from 5:30-6:30 pm (PST)! Alison will share her journey to becoming a corporate video game archivist, describe the day-to-day experience and challenges, and reveal the MLIS courses that have helped to guide her in this loosely defined role. She will also have tips for how to search for and apply for similar positions within the video game industry.

About Alison: Alison Quirion received her MLIS from San Jose State University in May 2021 and BA in Communications from California State University, Fullerton in 1992. She spent 25 years in video game and film marketing before making a career change in 2019 into archives and information organization. She completed the Digital Archives Specialist certificate program from the Society of American Archivists (SAA) in September 2022, and maintains membership in both SAA and the Society of California Archivists (SCA). Alison is the Archivist for Santa Monica Studio, a AAA video game development team under the Sony PlayStation Studios umbrella. She is based in Long Beach, California.
